A fairly enjoyable Robinhood story; NOT a heist film

“It’s a pity because it seemed for a brief while that TSK seemed intent on correcting the weak love angle in Special 26, but then again, despite encouraging early signs, it’s the same old story of the heroine who exists only to pine and worry for the boy. It seems that even Vignesh Shivn is aware of this. He gets her to say, “Adhukku thaane naanga irukkom.” Is he, like Iniyan, trying to attack the system by playing it?”

Velaikkaran: Plenty to chew on, even if it isn’t all delicious

Mohan Raja is a man of optimism — his heroine, Mrinalini (who everybody keeps calling Mirunalini), has the word ‘positivity’ tattooed on her forearm. You can see why she’d be interested in Arivu.

Ivan Thanthiran: A not-so-slick thriller

It’s all fairly inventive, like the depiction of social media and its world of memes as having the power to dethrone a minister, and the usage of curious devices like the miniature surveillance camera that is mounted on an ‘e’ (housefly), perhaps on account of all the e-stuff going on.
